After 7 years of continuous care, we're finishing our project for victims and survivors of sexual violence in Maniema, Democratic Republic of Congo.

The model of care we developed for the area is effective, and “must not disappear with [our] departure.”

We began our project in the cities of Reynosa and Matamoros in 2017 to respond to the poor living conditions and great health needs of people stranded in northern Mexico.

After 8 years of this work, we have finished this project:

In the nearly 4 years we provided care to migrants in Panama, our teams conducted over 163,000 outpatient consultations and treated 1,900+ survivors and victims of sexual violence.

We have now concluded our activities in Panama:

Since 2019, we treated 16,000+ victims and survivors of sexual violence in the Salamabila region of Maniema, Democratic Republic of Congo. Our project is ending this month, and we are urging that survivors have continuity of holistic care:

We’ve concluded our work in Bombali, Sierra Leone, after 5 years of providing care for tuberculosis. Between 2020 and 2025, we:

🔬 tested 30,800+ people for tuberculosis, and
💊 treated 8,500+ people for the disease

10 years ago, our trauma centre in Kunduz, Afghanistan, came under intense US airstrikes that killed our patients, friends, and colleagues.

We have a new pilot programme to protect children from malaria in Cibitoke, Burundi.

Our teams are providing children with vaccinations, prevention tablets, and treated mosquito nets. So far, the programme seems to be yielding promising results:

Years of conflict left homes destroyed & services scarce in Tirah Valley, Pakistan. Since 2022, families have been returning after years of displacement.

We are supporting them through a clinic that provided 40,000 outpatient consultations in 2024 alone.
