Forgive me, the post I replied to was the first thing I'd seen you make about it, but I'm gathering that it stems from a different or larger discussion.

While I think this is fair to an extent, I think this is also shies away from the fact that AI as we know it exists primarily for profit. Does it have the capacity to be useful without being obtrusive? Absolutely. Will that happen if left unchecked? If history is any indication, highly unlikely.
