some preliminary design work for a kind of dress uniform; far left, initial feel gesture: Boo in sort of weird, tunic like sweater and high waisted jacket with big, poofy sleeves. center: Boo in a slightly more realized version of the outfit - base layer in a mechanical counterpressure space suit, over which is worn a tunic with a wide turtle neck, slit up the sides to the waist; she has some kind of indicator plate over her left breast and is wearing something kinda like a beret. right: more or less same, but wearing a high waisted jacket with puffed sleeves; it is rounded over the shoulders, with a simple, squared lapel.

single page sketch comic, two panels; in the first Ranma Saotome, in their girly aspect but also like, jumping spider arachne/spider girl, lounging about and yawning deeply. second frame, they're now alert and somewhat annoyed, pawbs up and ready. someone has lowered their hand to deliver headpats, to which Ranma responds "Wha-H-hey, no headpats!"

like, what I'm gonna say is this; these attempts to assert dominance and control are desperate efforts to keep the hegemony/hierarchy going in the face of fatal structural issues
the US Empire was already in a state of gradually accelerating decline well before this current day, this current admin right now what we're seeing is an attempt to do another restructuring of the state/economy, ala the neoliberal turn of the 70's/80's; this was (and is) the state choosing to undermine many of it's own capabilities in hopes of maintaining the social order but the capacity of the state to absorb such a thing is now substantially less than it was 40-50 years ago. decades of privatization and offshoring have left it a shell of what it once was, lacking in critical areas of the economy and propped up more by the image than the fact of a powerful military and when it comes down to it, the men pursuin this goal are far less capable than their predecessors, see the that what they're trying to do functionally Neoliberalism 2: Neoliberalism Harder. I don't know what is going to happen, but I already thought it highly unlikely that the empire of the US would make it past the middle of the century; now it's looking like it might not last out the decade.
