It's a shame that this is the only time the ability is used like this, though I understand it wouldn't work for the fight to work properly.

The lack of any sound makes the whole encounter feel so much more eerie, making Dio seem like a far more menacing force. The fact Dio also chooses to essentially aura farm using the time stop also perfectly shows his arrogance and ego.

(Obviously, I still love the updated version. The sound effect alone makes it immediately iconic)

Having Dio just entirely disappear from the
frame really puts you in the position of Jotaro facing an opponent with an immensely powerful and truly incomprehensible ability.
