#edusky I'm not ready to go back to work on Monday. Really miss those 3 week Winter Breaks when I was at an extended school year campus. (Week off in Oct and Nov, 3 weeks off at Xmas, 2 week Spring break in March and 4 day weekend in April. Start date 1st Mon in August last student day 6.30)

Officially NOT ready for this next semester of graduate school to start on Monday. Just really not looking forward to dry advanced research methods courses. Kinda just want to skip over these last 2 semesters and get on with the dissertation already.

Well spent 2 days of my winter break renewing my ALICE active shooter trainer certification...nothing says the holiday season like active shooter scenarios I guess. See you again in 2028 ALICE trainers.

I am desperately trying to find some #ChristmasSpirit this year but I just don't feel it. The state of the world is depressing, my ❤️ still misses our orange buddy, my boyfriends ❤️ is broken without his little buddy, & I feel like my #PhD will never be done, I'm uninspired, & the weather is dreary.

3 6th graders came into my office to let me solve the puzzle they built in STEM class & while I worked on it couldn't think of anything to say to me so they awkwardly said 'this is a nice small room' in reference to my office. I said 'its a little small that's why you see me in the halls so much'

Our sweet baby boy Jack passed away today. As I was on the phone w a mobile #vet to see if they could come help us put him down at home he took his last breath in his daddy's arms. We are 💔but grateful he is no longer suffering & he was at home and not scared in some vets office. #RIP sweet boy

My poor orange sweetheart is not doing well. He isn't getting better but at the moment isn't in urgent decline. His little girlfriends are keeping him comfy in a snuggle sandwich while he rests. Some days he's better than others. Today was an OK #caturday but it sure tired him out 💜

I did an entire paper between Friday and Saturday night while also being at the vet for 3 hours finding out one of my best friends is probably dying and has a huge mass/likely tumor and my boyfriend and I are devastated. Writing about organizational change while taking cry breaks felt impossible.

#edusky I am tired. I'm hitting a wall in this PhD coursework. It's just getting tough and I'm tired and need a break that's not coming until Xmas. The pace of this program is punishing. Back to back to back semesters with 3 weeks off at Xmas for 4.5 years straight and this is year 3.3

#edusky today was hard. Had a discipline situation to deal w that had no good solution. 1 dad asked the dreaded 'do you have kids?' that always makes me feel like crap because I wanted kids& didn't get any. then he noticed me get sad & rebounded w 'thats not fair you care for kids you understand' 💔

As of today I have completed 42 credit hours of my PhD program. I am starting to see glimmers of light at the end of this dark tunnel.

My sunflowers didn't do as well as usual this year but I do have one 16 footer with multiple heads but many of the rest only got half as tall as usual.

My boyfriend has an elaborate DJ set up he hasn't used since moving in which I found out was due to his receiver not working. His bday is the 29th& his gift came today. I love making him happy. I've never taken a bath w the floor shaking from Percolator being played 2 floors down. I love this man❤️
