I have the candy canes ready for my high schoolers and an Alani for myself. We will do work for half of the hour today, and the other half we will remain phone-less, but we will be playing games, doing puzzles, coloring, or hanging out. Then it will be the start of winter break.

I have been choosing the colors for my lights to reflect the dress up days this week. Today is “Winter Wonderland” meaning wear blue, hats, scarves, etc.

It’s been a doozy of a week between switched schedules because of snow storms, kids getting antsy for break, and me being sick. I took tomorrow off to try and get back to normal, but this message from a former student really lifted my spirits through all this stress.

Not sure if this is just a unique Midwestern or Minnesotan thing, but since we had some leftover crackers from Thanksgiving, I made some ham and pickle dip to use them up.

I wish I had more time to sit down and enjoy my lunch when I am at school, so I am definitely going to take my time today even though I have a bunch of cleaning and prep work to do before we host a Thanksgiving on Friday and have our small Thanksgiving tomorrow.

I love cooking this dish: turkey kielbasa, tortellini, and stir fry veggies. We like to have a variety of sauces available as well to mix it up. Plus, it forces my kids to do a better job with their vegetables. 😁
