Physics and AP Physics teacher in the SF Bay Area #iteachphysics #modphys #EDUsky #NGSS

I also like rocks 🌋 planets 🪐 stars ✨ and organized labor 💪
Organizing these lab computers might be the most visually pleasing thing I have ever done 🌈 #EduSky

Best thing about getting married in 2024 is saying my husband could get me the ✨most perfect gift✨

I do not recommend going to school recovering from food poisoning, not even for one period. But my student made me these #iteachphysics cookies (there’s a density one below) and it’s so cute. I just wish I could eat them. 🥺

The only good thing to come from the Bad Times in was massive amounts of bread. As a 6th gen San Franciscan, it was finally my time. 🥖

Momentum bar graphs are a C tier for me. They don’t add anything that can’t be shown with vectors. These though? Are F-tier in practice. I understand why they should work as a tool.

I’m not really sure. I’m struggling right now because (I’m about to be vague here on purpose) someone I was close to in HS/college, who shared a love of books like “Don’t Create the Torment Nexus” is now in a unique position to do that.

It’s something I’m always worried about forgetting and never check off, apparently. Here it is again…

When I got my watch in 2018, it was lifechanging because I’m absentminded and set voice reminders for myself. (I don’t carry my phone when teaching.) Let’s see how my reminders are going… 🤔

This magnetometer boat 😍 This I think I could replicate. I have a paper model of the first but this just hits different.

Sometimes there are science museum exhibits I really want to take home. This seafloor spreading one from the Museum of Natural and Cultural History in Eugene is definitely on my list. #ITeachPhysics

Oh yeah- tomorrow we are using the Pasco force sensors to measure centripetal acceleration while spinning around. I’m really glad they have grips. We used to do this with phones and I feared.

This is it, right? It's a project-based learning version of NHSS HS-PS-3-3 right?

Not me failing this multiple choice homework question on weather and seasons for my German class because in San Francisco this is every month/season. 🙃 (The options were Winter, February, August, October)

They were great, unfortunately arrived slightly too late to see all the leaves lit up on the road but the meadow area was nice. I have a RAV4 so not the highest clearance for the side-side roads but it did pretty well.

I got these cool pressure sensors expecting that fluids would be in the curriculum this year. It’s not, but we are still testing them out on a linearization lab. Of course my students think they look like vape pens and told me that repeatedly. 😬🎢

Trying not to freak out about the multitude of small changes made to the Canvas course template for a class I took a 1-year break from teaching. A lot of positive changes I want to keep but also I just want my assignments set up exactly how I left them?! 😱😱🍎🎢

It’s a very exciting time for me to go back to school because after a year of not being able to use my whiteboard properly, I can finally dry-erase again. You don’t know how much you need this until you can’t. 🎉🧡🍎🎢
