What can't be denied is that what he began as a Kindle self published work is now a 4 season show on Appme TV starring Rebecca Ferguson. That is amazing and beyond reproach.

I actually enjoy Hugh Howey's Silo series, but you have to go into them knowing that he took a clever reverse double bluff twist in the original short story and riffed on it to make a book series that troped in enjoyably fresh ways.

Wool was the first two episodes of season one. The writing makes for ... ... ... TV. All other considerations aside, the pacing and ambiance of books and TV are congruent. Meh writing translating to mid TV is probably the best we can hope to encounter.
