I'm so fuckin' confused as to what he's even talking about or why I'm supposed to be upset.

Like, is he mad that the citizen is paying *less* for ER than the immigrant? That the hospital isn't getting enough money? I can't figure out what his complaint is other than brown folks getting healthcare.

I'm sure Fate of Ophelia will do big numbers on streaming and radio. I'm also sure they'll release a cleaned-up version of the Travis is packing song and it'll do huge numbers with that very Jackson 5-esque guitar and bass line.

I agree there's not depth to this album, but I think part of that she doesn't have anything interesting to say. She got her music back. She "won" her feud with Kim/Kanye. She moved on from the dissolution of a long-term relationship with a dude that is apparently blowing her back out. Life is good.

I don't know that she was ever making music for music's sake.

I also don't think she's lost her fastball. The melodies are catchy (even if the lyrics fall short) and that has always been her greatest skill set. It's not like Blank Space, Shake it Off, etc. are stellar examples of songwriting.
