My absolute favorite question from yesterday.

Did you know the U.S. Constitution protects the rights of green card holders (lawful permanent residents)? The Supreme Court has said they have 1st amendment rights to protest & speak freely about their beliefs. #constitution #government #DidYouKnow #firstamendment #fourthamendment #teacher #edusky

History teachers - if you haven’t taught the 10 stages of genocide, or the characteristics of fascism yet this year, it’s time. It’s been time.

They’re proposing making migrants register with the government. If you study history you know that’s never a good sign. #edusky #history #usa #america

America would be nothing without Black, immigrant, and LGBTQ history. Don’t let them erase our past.

A solid crowd in Sacramento today. Thousands of people at the Capitol, with really creative signs and good energy. People are ready to start fighting back. #NoKings #PresidentsDay #50501 #california #history #edusky

In English today we had a circle to talk about Black History Month & our feelings/needs when discussing race in our class community. It was a powerful circle: we talked about dominant narratives, uplifting marginalized communities, & the discomfort that often comes with talking about race. #edusky

My feed is full of cat photos. (And mushroom photos for some reason.) It’s not that I don’t like them, but I’m a dog and flowers person.

Can y’all show me your dogs so I can switch up my feed?

This is my sweet wierdo St Bernard girl Gertrude.

There is so much rich, important history in America’s past that trans & LGBTQ+ people have been essential to. A gay German immigrant saved the American Revolution. Trans men fought in the Civil War. Trans women were Rosie the Riveters.

Pride was a riot, but so was the Boston Tea Party. #edusky

Trans history is American history. Queer history is American history. The government cannot erase that truth. #edusky #lgbtqrights #teacher #education
