An extra $50M, and he still couldn’t cough up $100k to move a handful of trees planted by former presidents?

Whether the actual turnout was closer to the median or the upper bound, it’s pretty impressive that so many people turned out—in some cities with 100,000+—and there were no significant cases of violence, looting, or property damage, not even by opportunists. Hats off, everyone!

Mandatory reporting under threat of a felony charge always felt legally dubious to me because it’s essentially compelled speech.

I understand that protections are weaker in a commercial/business context. Does that extend to government organizations too?

Some of you are giving Trump entirely too much credit. Project 2025 is not Trump’s plan; Trump is *part of the plan*. He’s the useful idiot who spends his days cosplaying as royalty, occasionally signing whatever Miller et al put in front of him.

Trump hasn’t read his own EOs, no less Project 2025.

There’s an Andor quote for that:

“The pace of oppression outstrips our ability to understand it. And that is the real trick of the Imperial thought machine. It's easier to hide behind 40 atrocities than a single incident.”

That continues to feel like the most likely outcome, and I take some relief in that. He regularly undermines his own people.

The video attached to the post showing the “highest quality 24 karat gold” being transported in shrink-wrapped cardboard (as one does), was so incredibly on the nose.

“She might have been justified up until she called the police,” is a pretty weird position to take since she did, in fact, call the police.

True, I should have said “purportedly”.
