Barred Owlet on the forest floor.
This youngster fell from a tree branch above (which is fairly typical at this age). I'm not a mind reader, but it looks like its trying to figure out how it's going to get back up and which route to take. Determination.

Today is Day 1 of one of my favourite traditions: #ArtAdventCalendar. Huge thanks to @jayispainting.earthskyart.ca for starting this a few years ago. Here's an older favourite of a Great Grey Owl where the stars all aligned to create a shot I had hoped to capture for a long time! #wildlife #birds

Every year during autumn I try to visit this gorge in Austria.
It's known for its reddish water - especially after heavy rain falls. Here there was a light rain all day and this brought out the colours even more.

Easily one of the most famous frogs on the planet, this is the Red Eyed Green Tree Frog. Found in many locations around Costa Rica, this species isn't rare...but it is still amazing to see in person!

Easily one of the most famous frogs on the planet, this is the Red Eyed Green Tree Frog. Found in many locations around Costa Rica, this species isn't rare...but it is still amazing to see in person!
