Finkelstein’s research focuses on studying the conditions that support students’ interest and ability in physics – developing models of context. In parallel, he conducts research on how educational transformations get taken up, spread, and sustained.

She holds multiple patents and has been awareded the National Medal of Science, Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Mentoring, and the Endocrine Society's 2021 Laureate Award, a top honor in the field of endocrinology.

Working at the national level, Dr. Woodruff championed National Institues of Health policy mandating the inclusion of both male and female biological variables in fundamental research.

Dr. Woodruff served as Michigan State's Provost from 2020 to 2022 and Interim President from 2022 to 2024. She is an internationally reckognized expert in ovarian biology and reproductive science.

As Chancellor, Dr. Mnookin recently launched an ambitious cross-campus initiative called Wisconsin RISE (Research, Innovation, and Scholarly Excellence) to expand educational opportunities and research at UW–Madison around significant, complex challenges affecting Wisconsin and the world.

Dr. Mnookin is a nationally recognized scholar on the intersection of law and science. She served on the National Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine’s (NASEM) Committee on Science, Technology and Law, and recently co-chaired a NASEM report on Facial Recognition Technologies.

Her research examines the global diffusion of higher education, specifically how migration policies, geopolitics, and social forces shape inequities in the US and abroad. Dr. Lee has been a Fellow at AERA and NAFSA and a leader in the Association for the Study of Higher Education.

Dr. Lee is a thought leader in global higher education, recognized as among the world’s top 2% of most cited scholars in the field. She is the author of over 150 publications, including her award-winning edited book, Power in U.S. International Higher Education.
