And that is the problem. We all stop doing things that we enjoy and are good for us because we think we suck.

Exactly.
So many people live hand to mouth and to suddenly lose your salary and health benefits could be devastating.
Of course, the billionaires running the place will tell them that responsible people would have at least 6 months' worth of expenses saved for an emergency.

Anger is an appropriate reaction to the poor funding and shifty supports offered to people who are struggling because we've screwed them over for generations.
Allow yourself to feel all the feelings and know you are making a difference.

It sounds like such a great adventure, but I'm certain I would fail miserably and the animals would suffer.
I know my strengths and keeping farm animals alive in a Saskatchewan winter is not one of them.

60 year old grandmother is probably not your target audience, but I do need a break from the true crime I've been reading, so the mutant armadillo and a victim impaled on a flagpole will keep the crime while ditching the true.

It is, although I haven't had many opportunities to sit and enjoy it, and by the time we go back home, deck sitting season will be over.

I forgot to show you the picture of my finished deck.
I probably bought the chair 5 years ago when I had the idea for the deck. It's been in my rec room ever since.
Since there's a conveniently placed branch, I got a pretty bug net.
And my view from the deck. Not bad for a small city lot.

I've been confused about a lot of this. Essential services are expected to work but are not getting paid.
Do they get back pay once funding is settled? Do their other benefits continue?
I was thinking of other jobs, like air traffic control. I DGAF if ICE ever gets paid.
