My partner, doggo, and I have also been hiking, camping, and grounding ourselves in nature throughout this trip. 🏕️ The trees aren’t racist—but there were a lot of ticks. The land holds memory, but also offers a healing—a contrast to the heavy history (and present) we’ve been sitting with.

I also visited Monticello, which was a powerful and complicated experience of its own. Took the "From Slavery to Freedom Tour"—2.5 hour conversation focused on the lives of enslaved people, including Sally Hemings. Deeply moving to see the site through their lens. I highly recommend this tour.
