It’s interesting to see the passage of history by the places and dates of birth. My great grandfather was born under Otto Von Bismarck. Me - Dwight Eisenhower, my oldest granddaughter- Justin Trudeau.

It was weird getting the names from my dad’s side, because my father was estranged from his family and I really knew absolutely nothing from his side. I have to assume some cousin I’ve never met put some info in.

I put my name in that Mormon ancestry site and got about 11 generations on my father’s side going back to someplace in Austria. Interesting but as you say at the end of the day so what. Other than names I know nothing about any of them and learning would have zero effect on the person I am.

If you have European blood, Charlemagne is almost certainly one of your ancestors. Along with a few million peasant pig farmers.

I guess I feel the same way about egg and cheese because ‘egg, cheese and (ham, sausage, bacon)’ is the go-to McDs breakfast, and why I was surprised Joel seemed unfamiliar with it.

Yes, if ordering you would specify what you wanted it on, but the assumption is it’s ham and cheese between two slices of some type of bread. An omelet you would say ham and cheese omelet. What I really meant was if someone says ham and cheese I immediately think of a sandwich.
