Well, I absolutely love Tyranny.

(Don't take this out of context, there's no reason to take this out of context)

I posted about this last night, but I want to post about it again today because I genuinely think it's an excellent documentary about a subject we don't really explore very often. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3crd...

For anyone interested, this is happening at 1pm ET tomorrow, and each player is streaming their side of their games. I don't believe there's a main account doing coverage. At least not that I can find.

On Wednesday at 7PM ET, @jimdavismtg.bsky.social is going to be premiering his Pro Tour documentary. It follows Jim and Reid Duke from the testing house all the way through their weekend of Pro Tour: Aetherdrift. I'm very excited for this one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3crd...

The max points you can get at Worlds is 27, but the minimum is 1, so anyone within 26 points of 1st place heading into Worlds has a shot.
Simon Nielsen had such a lead last year that nearly everyone was shut out. This year looks to be quite the rollercoaster.

Going into Worlds 2024, we had 8 players competing for the Kai Budde Award. In 2025? We've got 37.

Time to play a beautiful game.
mtgscribe.bsky.social
I'll post details in the morning, because I want to triple-check my data, but last year, there were a total of 8 players going into Worlds that had a shot at the Kai Budde award. This year there looks to be almost 5 times that.

I don't run ads on my site, so if anyone who found my work useful this weekend is interested in financially contributing, I have both a Patreon ( patreon.com/MTG_Scribe ) and a Ko-Fi ( ko-fi.com/mtg_scribe ). No worries if it's not for you, but I prefer this to ads!
mtgscribe.bsky.social
On Monday morning, I'll post the Kai Budde Award standings and list the players who can win it at Worlds.
mtgscribe.bsky.social
I went through all 32 players, and none of them appear to have Worlds invites yet, which should make this the Top 32. Adam Brace is the only player who didn't play today to get one of the slots.
mtgscribe.bsky.social
It looks like 49 AMPs ended up being the threshold. I'm going to double check to make sure I'm not missing someone who should have a Worlds invite, but this looks to be our at-large Worlds invites. #PTEOE mtgscribe.com/2025/09/26/m...
mtgscribe.bsky.social
Hopefully right after the Top 8 is announced, we get R16 standings published.
mtgscribe.bsky.social
Looks like every result is in. Just waiting for the Standings to be published. #PTEOE
mtgscribe.bsky.social
Still waiting for the official standings for R16, but I'm pretty confident 48 AMP or higher is going to be the number. #PTEOE
mtgscribe.bsky.social
If a player has 51 AMP going into Round 16 today, they should be safe for a Worlds at-large invite. Not enough players can jump them at this point, regardless of what happens. #PTEOE
mtgscribe.bsky.social
As players hit 12 wins, I'm going to move them to the Worlds Invite list. So if you see the AMP rankings changing while the round is still going on, that's why.
mtgscribe.bsky.social
As a reminder, you don't actually need to Top 8 to get a Worlds invite. Just getting to 12 wins gets you there, which really matters for how the AMP rankings shake out.
mtgscribe.bsky.social
Results already coming in. Ben Stark, Masahide Moriyama, and Mark Stanton all won. The minimum is currently 49 AMP, and 46 is unlikely to be enough now. 48 still in contention, depending on how things shake out at the top.
