So the whole point of REAL ID was t make travel safer (which we already know it was a blatant cash grab) but we can forgo all that “needed” security by paying 45.00? Feel real safe when a forged ID can potentially bypass security with a bit of money. (I know that basically happens already but still)

It’s a step in the right direction: forgive my hesitance in the citizenry overall to put money where mouth is and back up the long term solutions needed.

I think it is more concerning than that: that he is going through some kind of “sundowning” episode and his handlers are preoccupied from redirecting him and those around him. We have a compromised elder in the Oval Office that is easily manipulated

That’s exactly why: it is common practice to increase RGUs (revenue generating units) and when the consumer field is already bloated with competition they just start focusing on squeezing existing users for additional funds.

If I remember correctly books and certain other media (I think like records, cassettes, etc) are exempt from the end of de minimis at this time.

This says nothing, really. What tangible response will Illinois be willing to take to the illegal deployment of federalized troops to civilian locales? THAT is what needs to be stated. The wishy-washy political language needs to stop and a strong definitive and clear notice of consequence is needed.
