I get that but it’s probably because OC has been made the sacrificial lamb to jumpstart the next group of challengers. We’ll see what they do after Full Gear but right now feels kind of like an extended introduction. That’s an unfortunate side effect of having 10 PPVs a year

Mox’s promos have an element of mystery and indicate more complex motivations than a typical heel faction. He always leaves you guessing whether he’s going to brutalize everyone in the building at any given moment. Also his presentation is much more gritty and grounded which makes him stand out

The Elite toyed with it for a month or two and then went back to being a midcard heel faction. Death Riders killed Danielson and have the world championship so they feel more serious. Takeover angles have been done a lot but I think Mox offers something really unique here

The Death Riders’ takeover angle is pretty damn unique in terms of motivation and execution. Is AEW just not allowed to do takeover angles? Is there a list of what they’re allowed to do and will that list keep getting smaller every time WWE steals an idea?

This isn’t a very pointed criticism. What would you actually cut from the show? Lashley, Mercedes, Adam Cole? That doesn’t seem reasonable even if they have fed tendencies. I don’t watch WWE so I couldn’t tell you how AEW is somehow being excessively derivative of an even more derivative product
