It's worse than that If you're an Uber driver or an Etsy or Amazon seller etc. anything less than a 5 star average is penalised. You might as well have either 5 or 0, nothing else matters
Theoretically, 3 should be "paid money, got thing, it was as described". But you'll break an Uber drivers heart

I'm always amazed by how rapidly the capitalist apologists and Whataboutists appear when a statement like this is made.
There must be a bat signal that goes out to activate the cliche factory.

It's a crown gall, not a burl.
December 23, 2025 at 5:51 PM
It's also not a burl/ burr, it's Crown Gall.

Burl is a cluster of epicormic shoots, where the individual sprouts are touching. Birds eye is when there's a space between the shoots.

"have served more than a year in jail before standing trial......extreme caution about setting a precedent even to facilitate a meeting with Lammy, given the number of prisoners who are forced to spend lengthy periods on remand because of the court backlog"

There's your answer.

TBF it takes less work to redact like that than it does to do it selectively.

"when life is done, a nightmare waits for you."

Unfortunately, that relies on you, or at least Lucifer being real.

I'd prefer to see some real world consequences now rather than relying on a fantasy to provide some solace when that shitstain finally croaks.

Well, something happened in 1925 which made them able to state that the life expectancy in "Africa" was 26.4 years.

I'm not sure "reliable data" is the issue here.
December 15, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Apparently something happened in 1925 where they felt confident enough to state that the life expectancy in "Africa" was 26.4 years. See ‪Matt Dear‬'s reply.

I'm not disputing the trend, I'm questioning what is being included, and not, and the possible motivation behind it, it seems cherry picked.

I may be reading too much into it, but it makes me think it speaks to the compilers biases.

WWI & II etc. are not viewed as "natural" events whereas failed communist agricultural policy is.

It doesn't affect the overall trend but it does influence any solutions to a perceived problem.

Wouldn't the Spanish Flu register?
December 15, 2025 at 11:22 AM
What's going on with the life expectancy graph?

Is the massive drop in life expectancy in the 50s (assuming the X axis is accurate) in "Asia" and the "World" a representation of the great leap forward?

What happened to WWI & II?

Not saying the trend isn't true just that the details seem a bit off
December 15, 2025 at 11:01 AM
That's kind of the point.

Remember when the "perks" of working for a tech company were a thing. 6 figure salaries with free food, table tennis and sleep pods. ^^^ that's why.

I didn't like the books and don't think GRRM is a good writer, but that's a whole other thing. I suspect any further completed books will be released after his death. Just so he doesn't have to put up with the inevitable shitstorm of complaints.
December 6, 2025 at 12:45 PM
There's nothing wrong with the TV shows conclusions and ending, I'm guessing they were GRRM's outlines, they were just rushed and full of holes. Which is entirely down to D&D's rapid exit to fail at Star Wars.
