This one’s in the bag for PUNCH DRUNK LOVE (as it should be) but his beautifully understated performance in Noah Baumbach’s criminally underrated THE MEYEROWITZ STORIES, should not go unnoticed.

Seriously, how did this happen?? Was it in Grodin’s contract? Was it a Bill Murray agreeing to do Garfield because he thought Joel Cohen was Joel Coen kind of situation? Was it in the dog’s contract?

I saw this at the Vista a few weeks ago. It’s the best version of Kill Bill, so I’m excited to hear everyone is going to get a chance to see it (and that maybe I’ll get to see it again as well).

Being from America, it’s very tempting to go with The Great Dictator, but Heat is a stone cold masterpiece that has, over time, earned its place in the pantheon of not just great crime films but great films period.
