Can you offer any insight as to how Fuzzy Nation happened? I assumed, without evidence, that you were setting up for a series/franchise, but FN seemed less ambitious than your earlier and later books. Then Red Shirts (which I loved and found unexpectedly moving) hit and you returned to form.
