Truly tragic, and the consequences of FAFO in such instances can be horrific, which I wouldn’t wish on any child or parent watching their child suffer on the road to recovery or die.

When I lived in England, a local officer came to my building because they were investigating my landlord. Very professional and non-threatening; didn’t realize until later that I was so relaxed about it all because the officer wasn’t armed with a gun as standard practice in the UK.

His interview with Coates was a harbinger of his loserness.

100% this. Politics aside, it’s a rare combination in general for a politician to be media savvy, confidently communicative with their policy ideas, and be a genuinely nice person (or at least come across that way).

Really unfortunate. In my community there is a large Indian pop who are great neighbors. During a festival they released a bunch of kites that landed in trees and on roofs in my neighborhood. I called the temple to let them know and volunteers drove through removing the kites they could.

I became interested in military history after randomly picking up Robert Cowley’s “What If?” books in high school. They were great essays about how the world could be different if conflicts or battles went differently and underscored how random effects like weather can drive historical developments.

Check with a local veterinarian or two how much they charge for annual vaccines and certain treatments like skin and ear infections. Best to be prepared for such expenses, and know that surgeries will cost several thousands dollars.
