yeah i'm here now
I’ve been watching All Her Fault and the abruptness of the commercials makes me like I’ve been teleported back to 2007.

It’s kinda wild that the NFL isn’t taking any action during this dispute. MNF is their crown jewel weekly broadcast and literally 20% of its viewers aren’t able to watch.

Even though some Senate Dems have been itching to quit while they're ahead, the timing is bizarre. Republicans were actually starting to flounder, and for the first time it seemed possible that a real concession could enter the discussion.

A smaller surrender caucus is the only silver lining I’m seeing. Not everyone is cut out for these fights, and it was always going to take a few battles to get the Dem coalition aligned.

They feel they’re ahead in public opinion but don’t want to risk that shifting as we head into the holidays.

Same thoughts here. The same public that has barely paid attention is suddenly going to care greatly and put the deal under a microscope?

I’ve been going through every NYT daily beginning in 1933 and it is remarkable how quickly Hitler consolidated power after becoming chancellor. It was sudden, and there was very little resistance.

The 8x is maybe achievable. But I think the idea here was really more to set an anchor price for some future re-negotiation. Like he points to the stock tripling while he claims that the old goals aren’t achievable anymore because the company has to pivot yet again. Their shareholders will say yes.

This is where I agree with the abundance agenda — if elected Dems aren’t putting energy into issues like this, what are they even doing?

What’s something under the radar right now that we should be paying more attention to?

That’s a fair counterpoint, but the 2019-2023 total really is around 350k, which is roughly 1 in 1000.

I just don’t think the decrease in 2024 meaningfully invalidates the claim. Being slightly off is a lot different than being completely off.

NIH and CDC websites both seem to verify ~350k fentanyl overdoses over the past 5 years.

I looked it up as well and you’re right, 1 in 1000 does seem to be roughly accurate.

Can’t find any articles, did this actually happen? The story and mugshot photo felt very off.

As a lifelong Tigers fan, I’d rather they didn’t
