A rare day out with my bestie to Book Of Mormon. I’ve wanted to see this ever since she and I went to Salt Lake City in 2018 😂

3/3 this was not a cheap class, she sold herself well on socials took forever to send the kit which didn’t include enough materials. I asked 4 times in emails for missing PDF’s. Still don’t have them. You tube to the rescue. Feeling quite ripped off.

2/3 2 missing PDF’s, wrong measurements, videos in some weird order that make no sense & SIX videos in she finally says “don’t cut the pieces out yet” after going through “cut your pieces…” and then later saying “they should be x length” but the two PDF’s she did include have different measurements.

My next make is proving to be a bit difficult. The techniques are easy enough and it’s straightforward however the online class I spent a fortune on, sadly, is really very poor.

Wow the HOL is looking for its next “Black Rod.” I’d apply just for the fancy uniform and to be able to whack the door with the big stick at the opening of Parliament. Shame I don’t hold the rest of the qualifications 😂

My Seductivestitch piece from a recent sip & sew session in Barbican at the Sutton Arms recently. A great couple of hours with Katy Horwood of Seductive Stitch. She holds Sip & Sew all over London at various pubs. Totally worth it for a fun night out!

Progress on my “sweetheart”
Pincushion from a class with Hand & Lock at the National Army Museum. This was a fantastic class to do

We were stitching this, this weekend. This is the sample piece for us to view and work from. Progress of my stitching later/tomorrow. Need coffee, a hot Epsom salts bath and rest.

Truly astounding hand work by Hand & Lock. The detail is astounding with perfect stitching of tiny elements.

Slow on progress with stitching - family bereavement & blinking once before the Christmas break was over. I did, however, get a kit I bought in the summer (with ambition to learn and eventually manage to stitch this) done. Give Yourself A Gold Star Brooch by Sarah Stitches.

And here he is finished with a beaded edging and ribbon for hanging - my Robin Christmas Decoration!

This was fun if tricky! I enjoyed trying out thread painting and I will do more

Progress on my robin! It’s slow going but getting there. Might have it done in time for the person I want to gift it to

It’s sold as a beginner friendly kit.

I’m an advanced beginner - this is not beginner friendly. The instructions are sparse and the links don’t work. When I finally got the kit it came with 4 way stretch tulle and a plastic display hoop - no good for stitching. Caveat emptor if you buy this!

Working on my first ever attempt at “thread painting” it could be a lot better but still have more to do on it. This is a little kit that has been widely advertised. Sadly the customer service and the fight to get the actual kit finally sent to me tarnished this a bit.
