Do you think that maybe the US is so disparate that it’s almost impossible to govern for everyone? American economy is so huge, I don’t think we can even conceive of having one rule for so many ppl over here in Europe.

Up until recently the UK was so obsessed with Brexit we barely noticed anyone else.
That’s now healing like an oozing wound, but we are gradually looking around and realising we haven’t got a scooby doo what else is going on.
I appreciate conversations like this.

What I’m getting here - with a whole load of credit to some patient ppl - is that both Republicans and Democrats are deeply cheesed off.
Democracy only works if both sides are held to account - and it doesn’t seem like that’s happening much at all…

Quite rude, but I’m genuinely here to understand your point of view. What is your issue with his speech? I’m a globalist, I pay a lot of attention to politics - our country hasn’t done well recently - but I can’t understand why that patriotic speech just there is upsetting you?

A brilliant politician just made a worldwide impactful statement about a tyrannical dictator who seems to be taking over America. Im a normal Brit, who doesn’t take loads of notice of US politics, but with the tariffs and stuff we’re worried. Your guy was ace. What are you upset about?

His closing 7 minutes had me in tears…sometimes atm it’s difficult to recall democracy in its purest form. @booker.senate.gov just showed the entire world why we need to keep our heads up - both sides of the Atlantic. Incredible scenes ✨
