I try to wind up a train driver mate with this, even though I know it's a long way from the truth.

Run from the ice, cos it's gonna slip you
Run from the ice, cos it's gonna slip you
Run from the ice, cos it's gonna slip you
All on that day

Similar happened when I was waiting to buy tickets for a show.
Annoying duffer in front of me arguing for 10 mins that he should get £1 off for some reason and the ticket seller was having none of it.
I slapped a £1 coin down in front of him and told him if pay it if he'd just get out of the way.

Not my experience, and I've been doing it for over thirty years.
Your partner needs to find a better school in which to work.

Lucky man. This time of year there's always a massive queue at ours to get rid of paper, boxes and
Christmas trees
December 31, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Going Monday when all the normal folk are back at work and I don't have to queue.

I can't help wondering why Spitfires might be considered attractive to boomers, all of whom were born from 1946 onward.
Even the very eldest of them would have been barely eight by the time Spitfires were retired from the RAF.

I don't doubt that this is true, but I've never had a problem and had several free drinks.
December 30, 2025 at 3:31 PM
It's happened to me a few times. I've learned to learn into it.
Strike up a conversation with them - it's much more fun than scowling and tutting.

The bags may or may not be comparable, but they are definitely compostable.
December 28, 2025 at 9:21 PM
My local authority provides comparable food bags for the food bin.
Encourages people to use the food bin more.

I've just had a fabulous meal in a riverside pub.

Wish you were here?

They certainly used to be frog shaped, now they're just rectangles with an embossed frog shaped on them.
