Last week, a law firm founded by Stephen Miller filed a civil rights complaint against Penguin Random House, the largest traditional publisher in the U.S. and the publisher investing the most resources to fight book bans. The complaint follows Trump’s own “defamation” lawsuit against the company for its publication of Lucky Loser. There is no “coincidence” in the administration’s targeting of PRH. Whether taking visas away from students protesting in support of Palestinian freedom, enacting social media searches on anyone who enters the U.S., altering history lessons to ensure “children don’t feel bad,” or suggesting that a library is a symbol of “government speech,” all of these actions are ones of fascism. All of them enable our government to write the past, present, and future they desire: one that benefits the few and the privileged at the expense of all else. PRH is not a “perfect” company, but it is the one with the most resources to fight censorship. Especially as companies continue to capitulate to the administration, all of us readers can make our appreciation for their actions clear. Edited to add: Please see our Stories for important ways to take action and fight bans! They require all of our efforts and much more than simply buying banned books. Thank you! 💕—#AdAstraStories #Bookstagram #ReadersOfIG #ReadersOfInsta #BookLoversOfIG #BookLoversOfInstagram #BookLoversOfInsta #Readers #AlwaysReading #ReadBooks

Trump administration officials have floated a stunning proposal to rebuild war torn Gaza into a luxury international destination under a plan reportedly called Project Sunrise. The plan outlines a 10 year redevelopment vision estimated at $112 billion, pitching beachfront resorts, commercial districts, and global investment zones in an area that has been devastated by war, mass displacement, and a humanitarian crisis affecting more than 2 million people. What critics say is missing is any discussion of Palestinian self determination, consent, or accountability for the destruction that made such a plan possible in the first place. Gaza currently faces collapsed infrastructure, severe food and water shortages, and widespread civilian casualties. International law experts warn that rebuilding without addressing displacement, governance, and human rights risks turning reconstruction into exploitation. The proposal has intensified concerns that political power and profit are being prioritized over justice, safety, and the lives of people who actually live there.#DonaldTrump #Gaza #MiddleEast #HumanRights #InternationalLaw #War #Politics #GlobalAffairs—Trump administration reps have just revealed a grandiose $112 billion plan to rebuild war-torn Gaza into a futuristic international destination dubbed “Project Sunrise.” The 10-year development plan is currently courting investor countries with a 32-slide PowerPoint presentation detailing the bold plan to renovate burning rubble into beach resorts.
