I have a theory that you can tell when a movie or TV show is overproduced or has too much money when all the characters look like they’re wearing close the belong to their older siblings.

All the costumes (and sets and hair and makeup, TBF) in Stranger Things are so optimized that they feel too […]

Trump's cruelty about the Reiners has been the last straw for a lot of folks, and this is a real “Let's forget about the fact that you're coming a little late to the party and embrace the idea you showed up at all" kind of moment.

Are you old enough to remember in the late 90s when people were coming up with concepts for virtual spaces that were basically just graphical representations of malls — you would "walk" down “hallways" and shop in "stores” instead of just using the web. A particular group of people were so […]

I'm not a Gruber fan, but I just read his piece on Alan Dye leaving Apple and it fully explained the inexplicable last decade of Apple UI design for me.

I recall hearing about Dye's ascension and it made sense at the time — the Watch was the next Big Thing for and he lead the Watch team. But […]

Hey Apple, where's the search bar? Oh right, it's under that visual pile of slop in the upper left corner.

I only just now discovered you can double click the edge or corner of a Mac OS window and it will extend itself as far as it can in that direction 🤯

If you need an example of why Apple's new "UI floats over content now" approach is bad, I was wondering what the heck this new fist bump button was in the toolbar of my mail client...

Of course it's not a button, it's emoji in the email I'm reading, but when […]

3. Takes place during Christmas
4. Takes place during a Christmas party
5. Is about a man reuniting with his family
6. But he has to fight to save his family
7. And learns to set aside personal […]

Switch Angel live-composes electronic dance music by *coding* it. If that's not enough, she explains everything she’s doing in a perfect narrative voice.

I'm watching Tenet again just to see if it's better than I thought, and I'm not sure yet, but everything we all said about the sound levels of the dialogue still holds true. Much too quiet.
