Growing out of very bright green moss, a gnarly-looking mushroom is centered. Its stipenand cap are gray. The stipe looks like a dried-up and twisted tree trunk. The cap is lumpy and misshapen.

We have! We brought two perfect specimens home last weekend from the coast. No bugs! Dehydrated them and they're ready for Ramen! The lack of rain had made it harder to find them this year, but they're out there!

I seriously love powder caps. I believe this is the Earthy Powdercap, Cystoderma amianthinum (what a cool scientific name!)

A somewhat tall ams entirely light brown mushroom is centered in this photo. Its stipe is very roughly textured and appears covered in tons of tiny ruffles or bumps. Its cap, which is covered in a ton of tiny bumps, has large serrated edges that are white at the tip of the sharp edge. You can just barely see a bit of the underside of its cap which appears to be solid white.

A large mushroom with a thick off-white stipe and a vibrant red cap, which is covered in spiky white bumps, grows out of dark fir-needle-rich ground. The stipe appears to have brown spots and streaks in it, likely from bugs eating away at it. The cap wraps around the stipe and is very round, unlike most fully developed mushroom caps.
