the anomaly. a poem from my (upcoming) zine/chapbook “self portraits”. 🕊
art is needed in times like these. art and literature has been and always will be politically charged. after all the emotions of yesterday, i felt a calling to share this piece. and i hope it resonates.

about to sound cheesy idk 😭🫶 but i would love to have lunch with him and pick his brain. get book recommendations, compare creative processes, play 20 questions, etc. then, at night, take him to a poetry night and maybe get up the courage to go up myself (is this manifesting?)

definitely got to be “his voice grows flowers” ‘cause not only do i love it, but the sheer amount of love i got on the poem astounded me and still makes me all warm & giddy when i think about it. but, also, special shout-out to “afflatus” ‘cause i wrote it in one day!

i would love to continue always making a gingerbread house for the season! i also love having a special little scone or muffin for christmas morning. i also think more intentional gifts > expensive gifts, always, so less gifts, more intention 🫶
