Word is out that Russia is making more demands than ever in the Russia-Ukraine war, according to Reuters. Ukraine is playing an excellent strategy leaving no space for Trump to complain that Ukraine is at fault, what so ever. #Ukraine #Trump #Turkey

Trump is simultaneously destroying lives, the US economy and society at the same time. Nothing good will come of his politics.

Trump's intentions/motivations remain an enigma but his blackmail by the Kremlin, or indirect influence, would explain his actions rather clearly.

Sticking by my prediction of a recession by the end of the year.

Uncertainty around US tariffs may cause the down turn to start earlier with shrinkage evident in the second quarter of this year in the US economy. Collapse in market confidence likely to start with AI shares.
With the huge inversion in US government bond rates coming to an end this ominous sign of an impending recession. Some have argued that this will be the exception yet ignore that the inflation drop is in part stagnating demand, another sign of the spector of rec.

US tariffs should lead to a rethink not only of trading partners but equally of the economic makeup of the EU.

The US has a trade surplus with the EU with regards to the service sector. As such the EU should pivot away from manufacturing towards services in the case of reduced trade with the US.

Additionally to last post, a wildcard coalition of Linke+Greens+SPD are only 6% away from being viable though historically Greens poll higher than their eventual vote thence the election may have come too early for this possiblity.

Some interesting trends in recent German polls, shortly before the German election. Die Linke is polling >5% and above the Wagenknecht party, firs time in a while.

SPD+CDU coalition looks viable but CDU support has be dwindling whilst AfD support has been rising thus may still need Greens.
