Do partners always see family planning the same way?

A new study using @ggp.bsky.social data by @mussino.eu and Caroline Uggla suggests: not always—especially when their migration backgrounds differ.

In Sweden most couples agreed not to have a(nother)child—consistent with record-low birth rates. Yet, the dynamics differed by couple composition: migrant couples were the most in sync about their fertility plans, native couples were in the middle, and native-migrant couples were the most divided.

Persistent minimizing of the COVID death toll hits me especially hard in the #demography feels. To be clear:

➡️ Over one million Americans died of COVID-19.

➡️ Official COVID deaths were likely undercounted, not overcounted.

Group Pic of the EDSD cohort 2025. A very diverse group of young people standing at a waterside surrounded by green bushes. There is a litte ferry on the water in the background and you can see the other side of the river Warnow.
