I'll head to Hobbycraft when I can to see if I can find some sparkly/shiny black stretch fabric. Ideally I want a purple accent tone, but let's be honest I'm not getting that.

The gold accents will be either glitter ribbon or poly satin bias tape. My friend has some leftover (1/2)

Onto more fabric talk.

The boot covers should ideally be made from some kind of shiny stretch fabric, like some sort of PVC. Ideally I'd use the same fabric I used when I made my cosplay of Marie from Splatoon, but I lost the link. The closest fabric I can find is £20/m which is. Too expensive.

I just get a headache at cosplay boots that are thigh high as they fall down so easily. Blake having garters means it actually makes sense for once and I won't have to waste a good pair of tights.

Moving on - the boots.

I don't like boot covers. They don't make sense to me. But these ones are less scary as the design has them held up by a thigh garter, making it practical.

I wrapped my entire leg in cling film, then masking tape, then cut myself out. Now I had my base pattern.

V4 Blake's coat accents are more grey than purple but I think having a more defined purple accent would make it more visually interesting, especially if I pair it with brighter gold buttons.

Essentially I'm giving her emo ass some extra colour. Before I add my own accessories to make it more emo.

After this I did my math and decided on what fabrics I wanted.

I opted for lilac polycotton for the lining and white bistretch for the exterior. The polycotton should help give the bistretch support. It'll also be weighted + insulated.

In theory I need 2m of each (if they're on a 150cm wide roll)

I repeated this for basically the entire thing, marking what part went where. Interestingly this blazer had two parts for the sleeve instead of one, leading to two seams. I've never seen that before.

I taped more newspaper to the back pieces to create my coat tails. The full length was 125cm.

only main issue I had was with how I'd cut a chunk off the front to crop it. I ended up having to iron my pieces out, mark my arm holes and trace it out onto newspaper.

After I approximated the original garment length I did have to crop it again though, just lower than neo's.

Since the jacket was originally from H&M (bought secondhand for approx. £2? I think?) it was really easy to take apart. I was able to just pull the threads open with my hands. There's one single benefit to these fast fashion garments and it's using them as patterns.

First order of business is actually an entirely different rwby cosplay.

When I was 13, I made a (pretty bad) attempt at upcycling a blazer I thrifted into a neo cosplay. It never came to fruition. But I'm gonna tear it apart and use it as a pattern.

This one's going to be kind of simple in terms of sewing. Just a coat and boot covers. I already have everything else (except the shirt... I'll just wear a black crop top)
