Sad to read the reports on the Tongariro fire. Used to walk those tracks quite often when I was living in Waiouru. Rugged beauty of walking in to Waihohonu or Mangatepopo huts was most rewarding.
Volcanic Plateau is probably my most favourite part of Aotearoa - (I have several 'favourite' parts!!)😋
