Where my Minnesota, Twin Cities, North Shore/Woods people at??

I wanna follow you!

15yrs building community on Twitter, but...here we are.

I'm a music teacher, classical 🎸, MN explorer, aurora chaser, and nightscape 📸.

These are pics I've taken around MN in the last 30 days.

Let's be friends??

Definitely one of my biggest concert flexes but it's probably the only reason I didn't get tickets to her last tour because I was convinced I would do that again. Lol! It absolutely did not work for her last tour just fyi.

Stubhub is legit dude.

If you're willing to play chicken and wait until closer to show date, you can usually score cheap tickets from ppl who can't use their tickets or (more likely) scalpers who bought too many tickets and realize they're not gonna sell.

It doesn't always make sense, but def real
mvinge.bsky.social
Single tix disappeared at that price but search 2 tickets, you can still find em for $20-30/each. Sellers can require they be sold together

Prices likely to drop again as more tix are added. I saw them for $35 weeks ago, then they went up, then they went down yesterday. Stubhub fluctuates wildly

All of it but probably gonna be occupied trying not to cry 🤷‍♂️🥲 Can't wait.

I just bought $23(!!!) tickets on Stubhub for Paul McCartney in Minneapolis next week.

I've seen him 5 times and never paid under $100.

I wouldn't sleep on those 🎟 if you're interested. I sent a mass email to all my music students parents letting them know those are available.

The horizon opened up during the rain tonight for last few min of sunset.

I really wanted to find opening in clouds to catch rising full harvest supermoon bc Saturn is right next to it 🌚🪐 Failed 🥲 Too cloudy in the east and it's raining but I'll take a good sunset I guess.

One of my guitar students who started with me when she was 7 yrs old, got her first full size guitar today.

She's been playing full rock songs and shredding real guitars solos on a 3/4 size Stratocaster so we upgraded to the real deal 🎸

Never got physical ticket when I saw her in concert. This 12am reservation will be cool stub to add to collection.

There's at least 30 tix left at Edina Target btw fyi.

Not many people here. Few sets of kids w parents starting to stream album. Myself included.

Did I steal this halloween decoration from the lobby at work?

Yes I did.

I will bring it back! I needed it 🤷‍♂️

It's aurora season if you haven't noticed. 🎃👻🪦

Onamia, Minnesota, 130am

It's that season 👻 🎃 I ventured out last night with a mission to find a new (to me) cemetery.

There are 10+ "Riverside" cemeteries located throughout Minnesota. This is one of them.

Last night 11pm-1am.

Somewhat of a surprise tonight.

The aurora is cooking up something strong and she's about to blow!

If you are anywhere north and outside of the Twin Cities and can get to a suitable spot, it'd be worth staying up.

I bet you didn't know about the debauchery at Minneapolis' Minnehaha Falls in the late 1800s.

"Knife fights, robbery, chaos & mayhem."

Go watch Twin Cities PBS new series, You Are Here, Ep.1, Wicked Minnehaha.

This is why we support public media!

Color is appearing in central Minnesota & at the Wisconsin border.

I'm betting by the end of next week, it'll start to pop.
mvinge.bsky.social
Yep It is. In the downtown historic district.

This whole thread has been leading up to this 🎸 Worth price of ticket admission just to see it live.

Willie Nelson's "Trigger" has not left his side since he bought it new in '69.

Martin N-20 nylon-string classical acoustic.

Watch 92yr old Willie play tasteful solo 🤘

/End of 🧵

Niel Young's Les Pauls are some of the most iconic and unique Les Paul’s ever

Check out mic setup. Vocal mic in the middle, harmonica, another mic feeding into a loud speaker that pans back & forth into 2 other mics (watch it move at the base)

No notable guitar stuff from Bob Dylan. Very short set sitting at the piano.

I forgot that he punishes the audience now making sure can't see. Literally blinds crowd with light. The old man hates phones that much. Annoying

But hearing All Along The Watchtower, Hwy 61 & some harmonica was worth it
mvinge.bsky.social
Oh, thank you! I didn't catch that. She was great.

So..

John Cougar Mellencamp...

We might have to skip lol

He's "playing" a Martin 00-18

Ok, so here's the deal. I think his crew keeps his volume off bc he's pretty sloppy nowaday.

All guitar was mimed except for a solo version of Jack & Diane.

But when you write a hook this good whatever lol
mvinge.bsky.social
The Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds combo is the best Dave Matthews, imo.

They make 2 Martin D-35s sound so percussive and massive. A real treat to see live. Biggest crowd reaction so far.

And Margo's mystery guitar?? (see previous post) Dave's using it now! But I still don't know what it is.
mvinge.bsky.social
Margo Price rocking a vintage 1965 Gibson J-45.

I can't figure out the 2nd guitar. It has iridescent sparkly binding. I'm gonna need help with that one.

Anyway, I think I have a crush on Margo Price now 🤷‍♂️ 😍

Let's give Kenny Chesney's bass player, Harmoni Kelley, her own post.

She looks like the rock star.

Sparkly bell bottoms, great hair and a super sweet custom 5-string Fender P-Bass.
