Not exactly a damsel in distress scenario, because it's still unseasonally mild and sunny outdoors. But I still moved it into the conservatory, probably most of all to get to enjoy the fragrance from a dozen blooms flowering all at once.

Japanese anemones thrive in the poor topsoil of my native Småland, but my attempts to establish them in my gardens in England have all failed. But here they are, mocking me, appearing out of nowhere in pure gravel. Bastards.

I've never seen bees in this garden before. But it appears there must be a hive somewhere locally, and they've now discovered my brugmansias, and the fact that no hummingbirds have claimed their nectar and pollen.

I am so disappointed — I've been enjoying these for years, it was one of the remaining few potable soft drinks in the UK since everything became drenched in artificial sweeteners. Spot the difference — I'm baffled that they can get away with still calling it "rhubarb" after changing the recipe.

Russia conquered Finland from Sweden in 1809 and ruled it until 1917. It took 70 years after independence for Finland's GDP per capita to reach to parity with that of Sweden oIt would probably have caught up much faster if Russia hadn't attacked Finland and forced it to cede 9% of its territory).
