I hate to nitpick this but winter solstice isn’t a day like a holiday or birthday. It’s a point in space. Solstice is the time when earth gets to that point. This year at 15:03 UTC meaning that the solstice falls on Dec 22 for parts with time offsets >= 9 like Australia, New Zealand.
