I'd note I've been in or adjacent to the software space for decades, and this is news to me! Conclusion: it's a term of art in a certain subset of the software space (or I'm ignorant ... either one!)
I second the advice to get assistance. I know your background makes you frugal, but look into hiring a dog walker for your recovery (or part thereof). Certainly, for the first week or so, saving even a few minutes will be a godsend !

I happened to see one of the aircraft carrying flag officers to that meeting departing my local airport. For understandable reasons, they used an E-4B Nightwatch "Doomsday" plane (because they run NORAD and Space Force).
Bear in mind that's just streaming cancelations. I believe the parks and cruise ships also suffered, and those are big ticket items that recoup (the canceled Thanksgiving resort trip likely isn't coming back).

True, but not the issue. The issue that prompts the "dedicated circuit" is that motors are inductive loads as opposed to resistive loads. An inductive load wants the most power (watts) when the AC voltage is not at it's peak (so more Amps), so messes up the averaging we expect from AC supplies .
FWIW, hotel status, while nice, impacts less than airline status. Several times a year I get to spend time at hotels where I have no status, and it's just a small decrement from my Hilton (Gold) or Marriott (Titanium) experiences.
Not being top tier on the airlines is like... flying Frontier!
None of this is theoretical: Joe McCarthy and HUAC provide examples, as well as the firings in this administration of people seen as too friendly to Proscribed People like FBI or DOJ staffers who worked on Trump or J6 matters.
Other categories where being identified at a protest may be harmful include getting or having a security clearance, having or applying for a government job, having or applying for a job with a quasi government organization, etc and also having family members doing those sorts of things.
