Today marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration Camp. My Dad was an MP in the Army at the end of WWII stationed in Germany and was assigned as a prisoner guard at one of the Nuremberg trails. We must pay attention, never forget and never let this happen again.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.
