I think another thing would be more transparency on the following: most media discussions about the amount of funds a given candidate has secured ahead of an election use that as a reliable metric to predict their chance of a victory. Why? Should it be that black and white? Red flag of disfunction?

Some people need that extra step of "showing the work" to get it.
