This is Zuma, my son's service dog.

He is a lovey lil guy trained to snuggle up & get pets to help my son regulate his emotions & nervous system. When he's off duty he likes to redirect those skills to getting spoiled with snuggles & pets from the rest of the family.

My letter:
Good morning, I am e-mail today to express my outrage that MY government would take any of its policy ques from the United States, especially health related policies like vaccine recommendations. I would appreciate it if MY province's government would take its medical policy advice from Health Canada and the actual experts such as physicians, medical colleges, and epidemiologists. Giving in to United States pressure, like this government has done on multiple occasions, most recently adding United States made alcohol back to AGLC's lists, is the opposite of Elbows Up. This pandering and falling in line with would be authoritarian regimes is dangerous. It shows me as an Albertan and as a Canadian that this UCP government cares more about keeping a good relationship with a corrupt fledgling dictatorship than it does its own people. The UCP says it isn't interested in separation but it sure is showing us that it thinks Alberta should be getting closer to the USA vs strengthening ties within Canada and limiting its interactions with the USA. I have been disappointed in the UCP's running of this province for a while but this is too much. The extreme and overt capitulation with our southern neighbours is disturbing and telling. The average Alberta isn't an anti-vax, tin foil hat wearing white supremacist. The UCP needs to start listening to the rest of us and not the tiny crack pot base that worships a geriatric, cognitively compromised foreign leader.

We recognize as doctors that sex and gender are complex and multifaceted aspects of the human condition and attempting to impose a rigid binary has no basis in science or medicine while being actively harmful to transgender and gender diverse people. As such this meeting: i. Reiterates the BMA's position on affirming the rights of transgender and non-binary individuals to live their lives with dignity, having their identity respected. ii. Reminds the Supreme Court of the existence of intersex people and reaffirms their right to exist in the gender identity that matches their sense of self, regardless of whether this matches any identity assigned to them at birth. iii. Condemns scientifically illiterate rulings from the Supreme Court, made without consulting relevant experts and stakeholders, that will cause real-world harm to the trans, non-binary and intersex communities in this country. iv. Commits to strive for better access to necessary health services for trans, non-binary.

Among the reformers, it was Calvin who adopted the most radical attitude towards religious works and demanded that believers should make no images of any sort of God. The iconoclasts who viciously wrecked art works throughout the northern Netherlands in 1566 and “cleansed” churches from top to bottom justified their actions by reference to Calvin’s doctrine. This act of devastation explains why so few paintings from before 1566 have survived in Holland.

Good morning, I am reaching out as I am appalled at the lack of backbone shown when failing to stand up to fascist leaning Rebel News and Erza Levant's threats. How can it be fair to allocate 5 representatives from Rebel News but only 1 from each other news organization? Canada is a vast nation and the needs and concerns of the Maritimes are not the same as those in the Prairies or the North. If CTV or CBC are allowed only 1 representative even though there are numerous stations operating across our nation, the same should go for Rebel News. If you insist on having Rebel News included, I think hatefully motivated words are not journalism and you should exclude them because of that alone, then they should be limited to a single representative as well. Your only other solution should be to have 5 representatives from every news media organization. I am disgusted at the debate commissions lack of forethought on this matter. I am extremely disappointed that the threat of a law suit by a vicious mud slinging partisan, such as Ezra Levant, has had you compromise not only your own ethics but these critical debates, free democratic processes, and the rights of Canadians. The rage baiting and click bait clips and quotes that an unbalanced journalistic pool will provide might make for lots of views, especially for Mr Levant and his ilk. However, it is eerily similar to the narrowed pool that our southern neighbours have in their white house that has become more and more sycophantic, producing propaganda and not news. Shame on you. I hope you see the error of your decision and take immediate actions to rectify this absolutely egregious display of bias and/or cowardice.

AB only 'controls' rent by saying when a landlord can increase rent & the notice required.

MB has other restrictions & also has a way for landlords to increase more if their costs reflect that w gov't appr.

Again MB is showing up the other Prairie provinces.
Alberta In Alberta, landlords cannot increase a tenant’s rent until either a tenancy has lasted for one year or one year has passed since the last rent increase. Advance notice is required for periodic tenancies. If it’s a week-to-week periodic tenancy, 12 full weeks of notice must be given before a rent increase. For a month-to-month periodic tenancy, this period extends to three full months. For other kinds of periodic tenancy, 90 days of notice must be given. Manitoba In Manitoba, landlords can increase the rent only once every 12 months. Before enacting any rent increases, landlords must give tenants at least three months’ notice. The maximum percentage by which rent can increase is known as the annual rent increase guideline. This guideline is the average annual change in the Manitoba Consumer Price Index and dictates how much a landlord can increase your rent for that year. If a landlord wants to raise the rent above the annual rent increase guideline, they must receive approval from the Residential Tenancies Branch.

Let me give you some examples of wokeness: In 1978 California held a referendum to ban gays and lesbians from working in public schools. A former actor campaigned against it (it failed). That former actor was named Ronald Reagan. In 1980 while running for President, Reagan vowed that if elected, he would fill the first Supreme Court vacancy with a woman. Period. In 1988 Reagan publicly apologized for the internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II and declared that it was done solely because of race. So... Ronald Reagan was too woke? Seriously? He was peddling 'woke nonsense'? Do you believe that? I don't think you do. I think you don't know what 'woke' even is, defining it - in an exercise of impressive self- absorption - as 'whatever I don't like, especially if it sounds kinda-sorta liberal to me!'. I think you bleat 'Woke!' because you're too lazy to explain why you object to a particular policy. And I think you bleat 'Woke!' because you're too cowardly to admit that you just like laws that hurt gays and brown people because they hurt gays and brown people. You're a reactionary. Fifty years ago you'd have been having a meltdown over women in the service academies. Twenty years before that you'd have been prattling on about how integrating the armed forces had somehow destroyed them. The term 'woke' wasn't around yet, but you'd have been railng against what now retroactively describes it because reactionaries wallow in resentment every time society decides to lessen the marginalization of non-whites and non-males and non-straights and non-Christians even a little bit. But this means, among other things, making yourself worthy of that esteem. Escaping from the spiral of grievance and self-pity that manosphere influencers want to lock you into. Stand up straight with your fucking shoulders back, stop chasing get-rich-quick schemes and porno fantasies, get a job and try talking to that girl you like and listening when she talks to you. Stop sitting around the house all day playing video games and complaining how unfairly life has treated you. "If the wife doesn't work the husband gets a live-in maid. If the husband doesn't work the wife gets a live-in teenager." Grow up. For the most part it's young men refusing to be appealing partners to free and equal women, so I've focused on them. But the point is more broadly applicable. To be recognized for who you are and worthy by those you yourself find worthy: this is best in life. But this itself takes us back to the terrifying burden of freedom. It's easier to close your mind and just accept the pap society has fed you about what a Good Man or a Good Woman is. Harder to choose, to take responsibility for that choice, and to take recognition from those you yourself admire.

Hubby mentioned a 'reporter' who asked Carney if he'd pay the Canadian tax payers for the expenses related to his European diplomatic mission.

I can only find this on the above channels or far right FB groups.

The Conservative national campaign director told media outlets Tuesday their journalists won't be allowed to travel with leader Pierre Poilievre on his campaign plane and bus during the upcoming election, ending a decades-old tradition of reporters embedding with a prospective candidate to lead the country. There is no recent precedent for a major federal party barring reporters, producers, camera operators and broadcast technicians from travelling with a leader during a national election campaign. In the most recent federal campaigns in 2019 and 2021, for example, major broadcasters, including CBC/Radio-Canada, CTV and Global, a number of print outlets and the wire service, The Canadian Press, had journalists with past Conservative leaders Andrew Scheer and Erin O'Toole throughout the campaign.
