I'm the burnt out library staff member you were warned about. The many adventures of a tired type 1 diabetic [Tslim x2 & G7].

#WearAMask #Insulin4All #ADHD #Dyslexia

Chronic Yapper with bad grammar.
And fought for this but is often forgotten in this conversation.

"In February, Minnesota’s House of Representatives passed a bill, named for a state resident who died because he could not afford his insulin, to etablish an insulin affordability program."

I only say this because his mother Sue has been active in #Insulin4All for years

It was actually attributed to legislation that passed in Minnesota called the Alec Smith Act. Alec died from rationing his insulin. Eli Lilly cited that as the reason besides bad press which could be because of the Twitter but so many other incidents occurred that were not directly cited.

Hoping it will fix itself because I don't want to call & they never send replacement if I submit online instead of call.

I was previously on REV 008 & 009 which seemed to have more failures. Now I am on REV 015 & 016 mostly. I kinda assume the older ones just didn't work well for me.

I haven't had significant issues in a while until the one I have on now. It hasn't failed but it's accuracy is just off enough to read me low after every meal until I shoot up from cut basal when I was never low.

You know how to deactivate them when they do scream though right? [Little hole under the adhesive layer that needs a pin inserted]. So many will hit them with a hammer or freeze them instead of that which isn't as fast [though with the hammer cathartic]. Though some will deactivate without issue.

So like was the dose actually wrong or would shutting off Control IQ have fixed the problem...

Annoying part is my rise happened at 1.6 hours just after the insulin peaked. Meaning I bolused wrong but prior to that had been dropping so my pump cut back basal too much which facilitated the rise. Of course sans meal my ISF is right so cutting basal would make sense but not wirh food involved.

Yeah that was the exact reason that finally sealed Mobi vs Tslim bc I could have gone back to an iPhone if I really wanted it. I didn't go with it bc I had my old android self destruct about 10 mths prior. I didnt want to be 100% reliant on my phone. My iPhone battery experiences have been terrible.

So if I drop it my site doesn't typically rip out even with it being heavier. Overall not too many complaints outside of the cartridge & the connection to the phone app [but that's an android issue mostly].

Though for other reasons I would rather have the Mobi or the Twiist but I am on android.
November 21, 2025 at 4:03 AM
The cartridge is a bit of a pain if you have any kind of dexterity issues, but unlike the Mobi you do not need a "special" syringe to put insulin in it technically. So in emergencies you have more options. It is about 2x the size of a Mobi. I use the trusteel infusion set which has 2 placements

Been good to me so far. I am about 1.5 years in to my adventure. I keep it in a gel case at home & a leather case when out & about without issue. I am not particularly hard on my electronics though.

It does have to be on the same side as the CGM & if you use phone connection it has to face outward.

Like at least mark it as ready? It literally kept saying it was being made. Guess I am hangry because ill be lucky to get home & eat it within an hour because of prebolusing.

In other news I got over 15k steps on my walking pad 😅. Ofc I was trying to work on something very detailed & important... and that did not happen 🫠.

Haven't had this big of a bump in a while. Possibly since I mis-dosed on pumpkin bread last year & my infusion set popped out. Should have done about 9 units up front but chickened out and only did 6.66 as I didn't want to go low. Now I know I definitely wasn't going to at least 😅.

I am 100% considering it once its G7 & Android compatible. Just hope its covered by my insurance. Supposedly Omnipod Dash is 100% covered but Omnipod 5 isn't. So my Endo wouldn't prescribe the Dash lol even though I gladly would have tested it before I went with Tandem.

I am Android, but I use the app Gluroo to send my glucose info from my G7 to my Galaxy Watch. Works well for me though the dream would be a functional pump app on my watch, I can't even get it on my phone because Verizon & Samsung forced my phone to OS 16 even with it shut off in 3 places 🙄.

Ah okay. Unfortunately this already happens in a lot of other countries. So this isn't too surprising. We are "a drain on the system" it's why preexisting conds. & high risk pools are always at stake with the ACA. Ppl assume it won't hurt them & a lot of times it will just not as bad as diabetics.
November 12, 2025 at 12:19 AM
Yeah, to some degree I did it to myself because I ate a higher carb meal than usual & potentially could have been more agressive in my dosing, but I had been running lower after meals lately so I was concerned I would tank lol. I have already gone low once on hold with Tandem & that was awkward.
November 11, 2025 at 11:56 PM
What's this about/from? Like where'd you hear about it?
November 11, 2025 at 11:34 PM
Maybe when Tandem comes out with their "care" app it will be a feature. Since it will allow people to follow the pump [highly requested apparently]. It works as a patch for folks who use Libre's too since they don't have a follow app like Dexcom.
