Working on the strap for that bag from a few posts ago, and it's... quite a bit more ponderous than the main part was, lol. I gotta say though, Tunisian flat stitch is as awesome as CrochetKim says it is.

Closeup on a cluster of tiny Aralia racemosa berries growing on a short shrub. Most of them are still green, and there are even a few flowers left, but some are a dark dark purple. These ripe few look very juicy. Same cluster of tiny berries as the previous picture but shot further away, with a hand cupping them for scale.

A crocheted fabric laid flat. It's made from 2 different yarns, one dark blue and one light grey. There are 9 one-inch stripes, from bottom to top, each utilizing a different stitch. Different stitches combine the 2 colors in different ways, so each band looks very different. There are ones looking like fishscale, ribbing, checkerboard, bamboo, and more.

A pot full of tiny dark purple Sambucus canadensis berries. There are a couple light green Agastache foeniculum leaves on top. Maybe not quite visible, mixed in, there are a handful of dried Lindera benzoin berries. It looks like heat has only just recently been applied, everything in the pot is starting to sweat a bit. A pot full of dark, dark purple liquid. A wooden spoon hovers over it, slightly thick purple liquid is running off of it back into the pot. A torchietto press on a table, and a pot of dark purple liquid below. The screw on the press has already been turned pretty far, the plunger is squished down into a muslin bag full of mash. Purple liquid wells up above it, and also drips out from a tube at the bottom of the press. It flows into the pot below. A wooden table covered in various sizes of lidded mason jars, each full of a dark purple substance.

It's creeping cucumber season here, yayyyyyy! They're tasty little nibbles, look like tiny watermelons but taste like cucumbers. The vine and flowers are really cute too. I bet they must make wonderful pickles, just haven't had time to find out.

A mass of tangled up Melothria pendula vines take up the shot. It's not clear what they're climbing on, bits of what might be wall peek through. The vines are very thin, and the leaves are like smaller, more delicate maple leaves. A hand coming from the right is pulling the vines and leaves slightly aside, to reveal little berries hanging within. They're roughly jellybean sized and shaped, but in color they look exactly like miniature watermelons.

From left to right, the colors are achieved from addition of the following organic waste additives: Sakura blossoms, butterfly pea, grape skin, orange peel, coffee grounds, matcha residue, and seaweed. Roughly, that's pink, blue, purple, orange, brown, dark green, and light green. Each is fairly matte, not particularly shiny.

A Tunisian crocheted bag laid flat on a desk. It's made in 2 colors of thread that interact in many different interesting patterns. One color is a nice spring green and the other is a lovely spring pink, although both colors are somewhat variable. It has high stitch definition, and the entire thing is worked in bands of recognizably different stitches, each band roughly an inch thick. Different stitches use the 2 colors in different ways, so each band contrasts nicely against the next. Some bands only have one or the other color visible, sone have both. The sides, bottom, and strap of the purse are solid colors, but one half is green and the other is pink. The part of the strap that would sit on one's shoulder is padded and thick.eted bag A view down into a bag from above. It's sitting stretched open, upright on a desk. The Tunisian crocheted outside of the bag is somewhat visible, in interesting pink and green stitches. The inside of the bag is a very light brown woven dimity fabric. Thin raised parts of the weaving, the dimity stripes, run vertically down into the bag. Since the bag is sat open with nothing inside, it's drooped down and the inside looks all foldy and crumpled. The entire thing is worked in bands of wildly different stitches, each roughly an inch thick. Each band of stitches looks totally different, and uses the 2 colors in different ways. Some bands only have one or the other color visible, sone have both but all in very different ways. Tiny bits of a person's leg and hand can be seen at the very periphery of the photo.
