The Japan Showcase returns in #MTGLorwyn! Ten cards in the set receive this treatment that evokes the style found in Japanese hobby shops.
Harmonized Crescendo - Japan Showcase Cost: four, blue, blue Type: Instant Rarity: Mythic Rare Abilities: Convoke Choose a creature type. Draw a card for each permanent you control fo that type. Artist: Konomura Art: A group of four merfolk with scales of various colors sing and play instruments while drawn in an anime-esque style. A circle of sounds emenates from the central merfolk. Then the card on the right. This year, I taught myself how to read quite a bit of Japanese, which I’m proud of. Next year, I would like to start speaking the language more consistently. I feel that’s a good goal for myself

I think Magic the Gathering is the best game ever made because you can just be fucking evil. You are allowed to make decks that make people squirm and force knowledge checks and interaction suites or die horribly. You can trap the human in the maze with a minotaur and they die if they can’t escape.

I think completely dominating your opponent, making then wallow in their inability to overcome my perfect scenario until they inevitably submit when they realize all hope has been smothered out is excellent game design personally.

Undeniable facts ahead btw (Durge playthrough)
A big old tier list of the Baldur's Gate 3 companions. In first place is Karlach, for incredibly obvious reasons. In second, Astarion and Minthara, for being incredibly deep characters who have very justifiable reasons for viewing the world as they do despite the fact that they often work in opposition to a traditional 'good' playthrough. Shadowheart is directly below them. She is the epitome of the enlightened centrist throughout most of the game, which is poked fun of by the list as a result of 'True Neutral' playthroughs often being incredibly lackluster. Shadowheart is an interesting, flawed (in a good way) character that grows better with each passing act. Gale yapping about how much he wants to blow himself up is annoying from time to time, but he is a good character and directly below Shadowheart. Lae'zel is a pretty typical Gith character, but ramps up her positive and interesting qualities regardless of your personal decisions past Act 2. The total opposite of Shadowheart in basically every way; being a pansy with decision making makes her hate you and that makes her cool, but she's also pretty basic all said and done. Wyll is wasted potential but everyone knows that. Minsc and Jaheira are in Baldur's Gate 3 because this is a sequel to the hit video game Baldur's Gate 2. They do not have room to grow and are there to wave at the camera in a fun way. They're not bad, they just don't contribute too much. I love Boo though. Halsin sucks. Okay he doesn't really suck. He's just a standard Good Druid™ and yeah cool yay, nature. So awesome. Didn't need to be a companion tho. I smite thee
