After Elisabet's father is taken prisoner by the British, she is sent from Boston to New Orleans to live with relatives. She and her friend search for a hidden treasure map in her new home that could ransom her father. Who would buy it? Perhaps pirate/privateer Jean LaFitte!🏴‍☠️ A new favorite book!

I didn't go far for some #birding today ... our neighbours had this juvenile Red-tailed Hawk drop down and hang out on their fence for a few minutes to escape a mob of crows. Got some pics ... #LdnOnt #nature #birdwatching #birdphotography #birds #Fujifilm

Annie Dawson finds World War II medals in the attic of the Victorian house she inherited from her grandmother. Did the medals belong to her late grandfather? Why have they been kept secret for years? Book 2 in the Annie's Attic series. Enjoyable cozy mystery. I loved the ending! #booksky

The dome of Santa Maria del Fiore dominates the city’s architecture, and this rule has preserved its majestic view, unobstructed by modern skyscrapers or overbearing buildings.
It ensures that Florence's skyline stays timeless and harmonious.

Favorite cozy mystery I read in 2024 is The Bark of Zorro by Kathleen Y'Barbo. I enjoyed the exciting dog rescue, small town life in Brenham, Texas, a slow-paced mystery, clean sweet romance, strong female friendships, and fun Scooby-Doo references.
