Ope! I like reading, knitting, traveling and some other things, too. I’m also a librarian, but opinions are my own. (she/her)

Sneaking today’s WIP in under the wire for this #ShowMeYourKnits. It may look done, but I swear this was my last try-on to determine if it was the right length. It still needs to be bound off. Pattern is a free one called Coline by Audrey Borrego. Yarn’s Hobbii Unicorn Solid in Teal & Sea Foam.

Some delicate cables for this week’s #ShowMeYourKnits! This top is Audrey Borrego’s Oread using Hjertegarn New Arezzo. It’s been a go-to piece for me this year since I finished it in early June.

Oh, Crete: you are one magnificent island. So dramatic at every turn. Good golly.

I’ve been neglecting #ShowMeYourKnits recently, so here are my Bibliogloves in progress. Yarn is Zealanda Rimu DK, a blend of merino and possum that I picked up in Wanaka, New Zealand earlier this year. They’ll replace my alpaca gloves that I got in Peru 11 years ago that finally (sadly) bit it.

Yay! She’s done and drying on the blocking mats right now.

Alright, let’s find out just how crime ridden DC really is.

I’m on my fourth summer top this year: Irene Lin’s Rota tank that I’ve been eyeing for quite a while. It’s knitting up fast even though I’m using Knit Picks Memento Pima Cotton DK (in color copper) instead of a worsted yarn. So far it is squishy and soft, and probably great for layering all year. 🧶

My current WIP for this week’s #ShowMeYourKnits : my second Piazza Tee by Sari Nordland. The first one I made is one of my favorite garments, so I’m making another sleeveless one with a slightly more scooped neck. Yarn is Sami by Amano in Honey Sunset. It is a gorgeously soft pima cotton!

The world is terrible, but this book was incredible! A very unexpectedly moving, tense, and expansive book despite the cloistered setting of the boxing tournament. It feels elegiac and was, for me, a true knockout of a book.

This one starts off with a bang (😳) and had me laughing out loud as I took an evening walk down farm roads last night. Loving it so far.

Okay! She’s done in just over a month and a half in sport weight and having to take a week to frog the many extra inches I accidentally knit after mistaking centimeters for inches in the pattern - not bad.

I haven’t done too many blankets, but I do have a couple for this week’s #ShowMeYourKnits. On the left is Chevron Baby Blanket; on the right is Petits Pins. Both patterns by Espace Tricot. Chevron is Caron Cotton Cakes in High Tide, but I don’t have a note on what yarn I used for the other. Oops!

🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits WiP week! 🧶

I’m currently working on a lightweight summer top in a linen blend. Pattern is Oread by Audrey Borrego; yarn is Hjertegarn New Arezzo in grey.

It is the perfect type of evening to sit on the porch with an Aldi canned cider cocktail and work on my first project for myself in months. Yarn is Hjertegarn New Arezzo 4702. Pattern is a free one: Oread by Audrey Borrego. www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

My work in progress for this week’s #showmeyourknits is yet another Turtle Dove Shawl by Sari Nordlund. It’s a gift for someone who has spent literally countless hours over the past 1.5 years helping my library with a major project. Yarn is Knit Picks Memento (pima cotton) in Raindrop color.

While it didn’t help that I was out of the country for a couple weeks without a project, I haven’t posted any knitting in so long. Here’s my pretty brainless gift project currently in progress while. It’s Espace Tricot’s Chevron Baby Blanket in Caron Cotton Cakes High Tide colorway.

#ShowMeYourKnits this week is your current WIP, so here is the Flax pullover I’m making for my partner after years of asking if I can make him a sweater. The cloudlike (but sadly discontinued) Cewec Tibet yarn’s softness is what finally convinced him. It’s a wool/yak/nylon blend that is delicious.

I figure I may as well eat something delicious while the republic burns, so I’m making the sesame cake from one of my favorite easy cookbooks. Checked out from the library, of course.

I’m listening to this audiobook and enjoying it, but it was billed as Fantasy (and Romantasy). Reader, I am almost 85% of the way through and there has not been a single fantastical element whatsoever.

Yesterday I had to renew my plates & every year I think it’s the year to get personalized ones. I play around for a while with combos but ultimately decide that I want my car to be less notable & get my existing plate instead. All of this to say, no one in VA has claimed NSYNC if you want it.

#ShowMeYourKnits is pink this week, and I looooove the Rosalinda colorway by Malabrigo. Here it is in Arroyo for my Foxberry pullover by Sari Nordlund. I’ve been toying with the idea of making another one of these, but perhaps with short sleeves in a summer fiber.
