I have always been an Atheist. As a toddler I equated belief in 'God' with that equally foolish, if well intentioned nonsense, Father Christmas. Rather than find myself I was never lost.

The silver lining: assuming Putin and Trump fail in their machinations, this could offer humanity a window of opportunity, not seen since 1945, to demand and expect a restored 'global rules based order' built on democracy not the non-ethics of mutually assured destruction?

I live in a taxpayer-funded, self-managed housing co-op [pre-Thatcher]. The challenge is to maintain our properties to the highest possible standard for the lowest possible rent. For our competitors [i.e. not other co-ops] the concern is to maximise profit in return for the lowest possible service.

For the same reason there was incompetence handling Covid19, indifference over the fate of Palestinians, antipathy towards green economics, contempt for 'woke', transpeople and all the rest ... they want us gone, deleted through neglect and replaced by automation and AI.
