Opening Day Energy at our 2025 Interdisciplinary Science Summit, in association with @caltech.edu , and we are so excited to reconnect with our Fellows, friends, and partners over the next three days. Growing interdisciplinary community together!

I also think it is weird to compare these. I think thermodynamics is more of a principle not a theory. However, I would call GR and QFT theories. Many who study QFT agree that it is not the full theory but a perturbative theory of the full one.

Really enjoyed the talk! It’s going to be great inspiration for the Advanced Stat Mech class I’m teaching this fall.

Our article, “Trait-space patterning is dictated by the tempo and mode of mutation,” co-authored with Stephen Martis and David Schwab, is out in PNAS! We show how mutation processes shape evolution, with relevance to bacteria–phage interactions. www.pnas.org/doi/pdf/10.1...

Excited to join @WashUPhysics as an assistant professor in Fall 2025! My group will develop non-equilibrium statistical physics to study criticality in biology—biomolecular condensates, gene regulation & adaptive immune systems. DM for postdoc/grad openings! #myphysicsjourney
