and not to keep harping on this but for a moment i thought i was on conversational terms with my (former?) friend/it looked like we were going to be part of e/os lives again but he is back to giving little to no response to my attempts at reaching out so i give up. here’s my announcing giving up

the cats woke us up at like 7 (on a day off for us both/2 hrs before their regular breakfast time mind u) and i did in fact then spend the next hour failing to fall back asleep and just obsessing over being an idiot, a failure, bad at my job, wondering if other people have lost all faith in me, etc
fortunately i previously requested the next two days off…although i will still inevitably spend them feeling like an idiot off the clock

had the worst Fucking work day and let myself get riled up into a panic over a mistake that like amounted to nothing. but now i like never want to speak to anyone ever again bc i feel like i ruined everything anyway (i didn’t) hopefully it passes before i have to show my face at the office on friday

and i don’t say that in like a “point and laugh” way it’s like i think the culture of adult ballet prioritizes being the “real ballerina” (ie on pointe) u never got to be as a kid and as a result a lot of ppl forgo proper and safe technique just to reach that goal and say u did it

since getting back into dance and engaging with dance related content online i now see a lot of ballet content esp mature/adult dancers working towards pointe and im SORRYYYYY im sorry ok but as an ex ballerina 🫣some of what i am seeing…is painful
